On this Memorial Day Weekend, let's actually think.


Sometimes, we have to thank our lucky stars that there are people out there who devote their time and energy to art. These flags (you can see more here) are a graphical representation of certain populations by area, and they are really quite brilliant.

Memorial Day is a holiday that I've had some difficulty explaining to some non-Americans lately. For me, it is simply a marker of the start of summer, picnics, big rainy soccer tournaments, and the formal ok to wear white (which I never wear anyway, so that point's moot). We get Monday off and there are a lot of American flags around.
