Really Hot but not Bothered in San Jose

So much for regular posting. I guess I'm just a weekly now, not a daily. Shucks.

I am quickly learning about how hot it really gets here during the summer. We're talking sweaty-slippery-leather-car-seat dry heat, heat that slows you down, keeps you mellow and perspiring constantly. I think my brain sort of shuts down in the heat, and it's lucky for Apple that they have some damn good air conditioning that keeps the women's bathroom feeling like an igloo. Right in the center of the building, it's insulated from the heat like a cooler.

It's 11 o'clock and still sweltering hot. Augh. I went to one movie tonight (The Devil Wears Prada - B+) and will go to another tomorrow to escape the heat. I like to think of it as $10 for approximately 2 hours of air conditioning, and entertainment (secondary).

hi, dear margot
i have thought about you often but i have done nothing about it. woe is me. i m glad that you will be around next weekend. it will be wonderful to see you again. summer has been mellow and relaxing, just as it should be. went to a fundraiser for jer last night. amazing place. a straw bale house built in the woods outside of north branch (near taylors falls). you would love it. it is a very interesting concept and construction process--and a location to yearn for.
see you very soon.
love, susan
