like my shitty router, my blog goes on...and off...periodically.

Hello folks. As I have neglected my blog for quite some time now, I feel I must give a solid update on what's going on in Margot-land. Here are a couple of interesting tidbits, in list form (a la Margot-style):

1. Talking with my dad on the phone the other day, he asked "are you the Margot on Yelp? Have you really reviewed about 60 restaurants?" It's a strange time when your own father is discovering you online. Yes, that was me. Fortunately I was not the other Margot on eBay buying lots of "dumb trinkets" (in my dad's language). Yeah, so besides the recruiters and potential dates, even your father could be watching YOU online. So watch out.

2. Today I finally entered 2005 (yes, FIVE) and got cozy with RSS feed technology. I put a ticker at the bottom of my browser that scrolls by at a clip and informs me about all the crazy (mostly terrible) stuff happening in the world. I was deeply saddened to see today that there is violence escalating between Israel and Lebanon, and having the ticker there feels like a slow drip of salt water on open wounds. Ouch. Not sure how long I can keep it up.

3. I did a strange thing today: I bought a book about cemeteries. Actually, it's about the specific cemetery where I run very frequently. I found it in the Barnes & Noble under "staff favorites" (so apparently there are other weird people out there like myself who enjoy reading about dead people). At Barnes & Noble, another thing that I noticed was an entire robust section devoted to BIBLES. There must be a lot of religious people around here. Weird.

4. Work and Life are going quite well lately. It looks like I will probably be out here in the South Bay upon graduating from Michigan. I'm really enjoying work and busy with a couple of new projects related to the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (visit http://developer.apple.com for more detail) which is pretty exciting.

5. Ollie is great and I think that one of the cats involved in the pseudo kitty porn ring (see previous entry) is now his friend. I also think that this "friend" may not have a permanent home, as s/he has no collar and is frequently caught sneaking Ollie's food. Hm. (This is tugging at my heartstrings; mayber Ollie does need a permanent kitty friend! I am open-minded about previous employment!)

That's all for tonight, as I limp along with my shitty router. It gives me about 5 seconds on, then 5 seconds off of connectivity. Yes, even in the Silicon Valley, we still manage to struggle with wireless. It's probably because I'm on my PC. Stupid Windows.

Over and Out.

re: #3, the Bible is the #1 selling book in the world, which makes your observation a bit less weird... actually, normal. Go look in any book store and you'll find something similar.
