Big Night (with the Wine Club)

Last night I went to our inaugural (as the new 2007 board) Wolverine Wine Club event. Among the kegs, yellow t-shirts, football and cheesy dance-focused parties, the WWC is a welcome treat. All the women dress up for each other we drink extraordinary amounts of malbec, sauvingon blanc and shiraz. As you can imagine, this leads to a pretty big night. An early riser, I am up at 8 a.m. the next morning and no one is to be found on email or skype.

My part in the festivities is to procure food and put it out at the event. There are two reasons for this. 1) we like having food there, for posterity and so we can talk about it because lots of people don't really know how to discuss the wine and 2) to prevent excessive drunkeness. A self-assessment of my performance yesterday leads me to believe that while I may have succeeded at 1), my performance in regard to 2) was somewhat lacking. I think this could be improved with more bulk in terms of the food. Next year, next year.

I am happy with my food choice (thanks Katherine's catering!) which was reasonably priced and high-quality, and best of all NOT ZINGERMAN'S! ha ha.
